The Kaos Signing Choir

The Kaos Organisation runs an integrated Deaf and Hearing choir, called THE KAOS SIGNING CHOIR.
It brings together Deaf children from Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children, Highgate, and hearing children from Highgate Primary School and Kaos' after school workshop groups; Organised Kaos for 7-11 year olds and The Kaos Youth Music Theatre Company for 12-18 year olds. There are over 100 Deaf and hearing children in the choir. The choir is supported by the Sheena Booth Music Trust.

The Blanche Nevile and Highgate Primary School branch of the choir rehearse weekly during term time, under the direction of Suzy Davies and Ali Jackson from Kaos.

The choir signs and sings original "Songs of Kaos", many of which have been composed by young people in Kaos' Songwriting Workshops. Song titles include ‘Feel Alright 'Coz We're OK', ‘Rock Boots’ and ‘Veggie Aliens With Attitude’.

Previous Signing Choir perfomances include "The Big Gig" (The Kaos Organisation's 10 Year Anniversary Celebration Show), and "Inclusive Works" with Haringey Shed. The choir also achieved 1st and 2nd places in The North London Festival of Music and Drama Under 17s Choir competition, when they entered in 2004 and 2006.

The Signing Choir were also proud to Sign and Sing for a delighted Princess Anne at the official opening of the new Blanche Nevile Senior School building, which is alongside Fortismere School, Muswell Hill.
